11/12/2009 - Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) 2010
In 2010 the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will be replacing the current SafeStat System with the new Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 (CSA 2010) Program. This new system increases visibility to the safety records of motor carriers, drivers and independent contractors through a comprehensive new database, the Safety Management System (SMS). According to the FMCSA, with the advent of the SMS, every inspection will count, not just those with out-of-service violations … and the safety performance of both drivers and motor carriers will be monitored.
